Amit is one of the most sought after music director today. Like many he was unaware of his talent till he was in college. He started of playing the keyboard for local events and festivals and slowly made his way into arranging and composing ad jingles and eventually forayed into films.
He believes that being a non trained musician allows him to dabble with all kinds of musical influences. He is exposed and aware of every school of music thus not feeling restricted in his compositions.
He established his unique style through innovations in movies like Dev D. Amit is also accredited with giving opportunity to new talent.
According to him Coke Studio@MTV is every musician's dream. Being as excited as he was while composing for his first film, all his songs have deep Indian roots with a dash of fusion. He has attempted to keep the songs as earthy and raw and as Indian as possible.
